The Local2030 Islands Network Conference united over 100 conference participants from around the globe. Over 100 Local 2030 members gathered, each bringing valuable knowledge and hands-on experience from initiatives they had implemented in their island communities, ranging from eco-tourism and restoration to data management and infrastructure.
Good Juju designed and facilitated an interactive wall, welcome activities and graphic recorded key panel and presentations to help bridge language barriers, and promote connections among attendees.
As an international group, most had never met before, and for many, English was a second language, which added a layer of communication challenges.
To help bridge these gaps, Good Juju designed an interactive activity that allowed participants to quickly discover what others were doing, identify shared interests, and uncover opportunities for collaboration. Our graphic recordings of charts helped capture key ideas and panel discussions, keeping attendees engaged despite occasional language and translation delays.
As a result, participants found new opportunities for dialogue, shared solutions to common challenges, and a strengthened sense of connection to organizations driving critical, impactful work. They also gained valuable strategies, which island leaders can adapt and implement to address their own unique local needs.
