Ruth Moen has been designing and illustrating for more than 20 years. 

Ruth is a multi-talented and sought-after artist – skilled in multiple media and illustrative styles, ranging from computer-generated art, acrylic paint, watercolors, scratchboard and flash animations. Her work has been published in six children’s books, including “S Went Surfing”, “All Around the Islands”, “Lio the Carousal Horse”. She has created illustrations for commercial clients and has started work on textile designs for premier aloha shirt maker Tori Richards.

A life-long lover of horses and avid trail rider, Ruth serves on the board of the Hawaii State Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Na Ala Hele Trail Board representing the Equestrian user group. She has worked with Ne Ala Hele on trail restoration and preservation.  In her free time, you’ll find her riding her hourse, starting native trees from seed at home, or pounding poi or attending hula events with her family.
